Dhahran Rd, Al Khars, Al Mubarraz 36342, Al Ahsa - 145KM

During the first trimester of pregnancy, a woman's body undergoes significant changes due to the release of hormones that affect almost every organ. One of the most prominent signs of pregnancy is the absence of a menstrual period. As the first few weeks progress, some women may experience fatigue, lower back pain, nausea, vomiting, and food cravings. To monitor the health of both the mother and fetus, ACL offers a comprehensive package specifically designed for the first trimester. This package includes 21 tests that assess essential vitamins, minerals, and certain viruses. Additionally, it includes tests for HBA1c, body mass index, and blood pressure. It's important to note that fasting is not required for this package, and results are typically delivered within 24 to 48 hours.

Non-invasive prenatal tests (NIPTs) are primarily utilized to screen fetuses for genetic abnormalities. These tests involve obtaining a small blood sample, which is then sent to a laboratory for analysis of cell-free DNA (cfDNA). cfDNA is a type of DNA originating in the placenta and contains genetic information about the baby.

NIPTs are generally offered to pregnant women who are at risk of giving birth to a baby with chromosomal or genetic disorders such as Down Syndrome, Edwards syndrome, or Patau syndrome. Risk factors for such conditions may include a history of pregnancies with chromosomal abnormalities or a personal/family history of chromosomal abnormalities.

It is worth mentioning that NIPTs can also determine the gender of the fetus, as they examine the sex chromosomes. These tests can be performed as early as 10 weeks into the pregnancy, and the results are typically available within 7 to 10 days.

The determination of IgG antibodies to Toxoplasma gondii is used to assess the serological status to T. gondii and is indicative of an acute or latent infection. The detection of IgM antibodies to T. gondii indicates an acute, recent or reactivated Toxoplasma infection.
IgM antibodies are the only class produced by an unborn baby. When Toxoplasma IgM antibodies are present in a newborn, they indicate a congenital infection. If the molecular test is positive for T. gondii DNA, then the person tested has an active toxoplasmosis infection.
